Brass Hair Pin Workshop
LEVEL: Beginners
Create your own sculptural brass hair pin in this relaxed one-day workshop inspired by traditional hair sticks, modern French pins, and contemporary metal hair accessories. Hair pins and hair sticks have been used for centuries across many cultures as both practical objects and wearable adornments, ranging from simple functional forms to decorative jewellery pieces.
Techniques covered:
- Saw piercing
- Forming and forging
- Hammer texturing
- Filing and refining
- Polishing and finishing brass
What to bring/expect:

All tools and materials are provided

Please bring glasses if you need them for close work

Wear suitable studio clothing and closed-toe footwear

Long hair should be tied back

Optional: a CSSJ apron to feel right at home in the workshop!
Tea, coffee, and biscuits are provided. We do not have a dedicated lunch area, but you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat at your desk, or we’re happy to recommend nearby places to eat.
