Description
Festive Brass Candle Holder
Level: Beginners
In this relaxed and welcoming workshop, you’ll learn a range of accessible silversmithing techniques while creating your own brass candle holder – a beautiful centrepiece for cosy winter evenings or a thoughtful handmade gift.
Working with heavy sheet brass, you’ll use the rolling mill, hammers and punches to add texture, pattern and detail to your design. With step-by-step guidance, you’ll shape your piece before soldering on a brass sleeve to securely hold a tapered candle.
You’ll then learn how to file, buff and polish the brass, bringing out its warm golden colour and giving your finished candle holder a beautiful shine.
This hands-on workshop is a lovely introduction to working with metal and traditional jewellery and silversmithing tools. You’ll leave with a unique, functional piece for your home, along with new skills and an understanding of how metal can be shaped, textured, soldered and finished.
No previous experience is necessary.
