Jewellery and Silversmithing Photography Workshop

Tell the story behind your jewellery with beautifully styled imagery.
Tuesday 18 August 2026, 10 am – 4 pm
Level: Beginners – no experience needed
Duration: 6 hours
A supportive, hands-on session in a lively studio environment.
CSSJ are delighted to welcome Stacey Bentley to teach a Photography session in our workshop!
Learn how to take beautiful, professional-looking photographs of your jewellery using the camera you already have in your pocket. In this relaxed and practical one-day workshop, jewellery photographer Stacey Bentley will guide you through the essentials of styling, lighting, composition, and editing using a smartphone rather than a DSLR camera.
Perfect for makers, small business owners, and anyone looking to enhance their photography for websites, social media, applications, or portfolios, this workshop focuses on practical techniques that can be easily recreated at home without expensive equipment.
Throughout the day, you’ll explore how to photograph reflective surfaces, capture detail and texture, work with natural and simple artificial lighting, and create clean, consistent images that showcase your work at its best. Stacey will also share tips on backgrounds, props, editing apps, and common mistakes to avoid when photographing jewellery.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with greater confidence in photographing your work, practical skills you can immediately put into use, and a collection of improved images ready to share online.
Suitable for beginners and makers of all levels. Participants should bring a smartphone with a camera and a selection of jewellery pieces to photograph during the workshop.
