It’s that time of year again: families have returned from vacations, teachers are preparing their classrooms and lesson plans, and students are stocking up on highlighters and notebooks. It’s back to school! Not only for the kids but for us here at Central Scotland School of Jewellery!
Evening classes start on the 5th and 6th of September and are almost fully booked. There are just two places left on the Wednesday night class if you haven’t booked yet!
If weekend classes are a better fit for your busy schedule then we have two fantastic ones coming up this season. On Saturday the 14th of October join us for ‘Torch Coloured Titanium’ a chance to find out more about this unique and versatile metal that turns from a dull grey to vibrant shades of yellow, blue and purple.
On November the 18th we are repeating our very popular ‘Stacking Rings’ workshop where students will finish the day bedecked with silver rings that they have created. Last time round a student finished five rings in a day! It’s a fantastic course to come on with a group of friends or with a family member.
Head on over to our (new!) website for more information or to see some of the fantastic work our previous students have created.
September also means sapphires! Sapphire, the birthstone of September, is most desired in its pure, rich blue color but is present in almost every color including pink, yellow and green. In the Middle Ages the gem was believed to protect those close to you from harm and also represented loyalty and trust. If you need a little inspiration for a new piece, this could be it; but be prepared to open your wallet – sapphires are one of the more expensive gemstones to buy!
Wishing you all a creative September!
