Description
Wax Collage and Mitsuro-Hikime Masterclass
Level: Intermediate. This class is suitable for those who have already worked in blue wax and/or have some jewellery making experience.
Mitsuro-Hikime
Roughly translated as honey, wax, drawing, texture, Mitsuru wax is warmed by hand to allow it to become pliable before stretching and folding repeatedly to form striations. This might sound simple, but it can be a tricky material to master. With this masterclass, however, students will learn techniques of how to professionally form shapes which can be used in the creation of jewellery. Â Sculpting, shaping and general troubleshooting will be discussed alongside the casting process and how to calculate wax weight vs costing in metal.
