Description
Gemstone Pendant WorkshopÂ
Join us for a creative gemstone pendant workshop and make yourself a beautiful semi-precious gem and silver necklace in just a day!
In this one-day introductory workshop, you’ll learn the essentials of stone setting, starting with a bezel (or rub-over) setting. A bezel is a thin band of plain or patterned silver that fits closely around a stone to hold it securely. You’ll shape and solder your bezel, attach it to your piece, then form the metal neatly over the stone’s edge to complete the setting. Along the way, you’ll develop core skills including saw piercing, soldering, texturing, filing and polishing as you create your own pendant. You can choose from a range of semi-precious gemstones to tailor the design to your style.
The workshop also introduces tab settings, a simple, heat-free method that’s perfect for unusually shaped stones and found objects. It’s an adaptable technique that encourages experimentation and adds another useful option to your stone-setting toolkit.
Level: Suitable for all. The Stone Set Pendant Workshop is suitable for beginners or anyone who wants to add to their repertoire of jewellery skills. It’s a great class to combine with our other beginner’s workshops as you begin to build up your jewellery skill set.
