Description

Festive Brass Candle Holder

Level: Beginners

In this relaxed and welcoming workshop, you’ll learn a range of simplified silversmithing skills while creating your very own brass candle holder – the perfect centrepiece for cosy winter evenings or a thoughtful handmade gift.

Working with heavy sheet brass, you’ll use our rolling mill, hammers and punches to bring your design to life, adding beautiful textures and unique patterns that catch the candlelight. With guidance at every step, you’ll then solder on a matching brass sleeve to securely hold a tapered candle, before carefully filing, buffing and polishing your piece to a professional finish. You’ll leave not only with a glowing brass candle holder, but also with the skills and confidence to continue exploring metalwork for years to come. Whether you’re making for your own home or to gift someone dear, this is a wonderful way to slow down, get hands-on, and celebrate the season with something both useful and beautiful. No previous experience necessary!

Techniques covered:

  • Patterning & texturing brass
  • Soldering & sawing
  • Polishing & finishing
