Join us for our Wednesday evening jewellery making class! We’ve been working hard to reconfigure our studio for a safe return to studying. We are adhering to the government guidelines and our Risk Assessment will shortly be published on our website. We have developed new protocols for students and staff to adhere to which will be emailed to all students before their first class.
This is a comprehensive course covering all aspects of the art of jewellery making. The course is suitable for both beginners and more experienced students who wish to refine their skills.
The small class size enables each student to work on an individual sustained project throughout the term with assistance from highly skilled tutors to provide expert one-to-one tuition.
You will learn all basic jewellery techniques such as piercing, soldering, and applying texture to the metal. The first 4-5 weeks are reserved for structured tuition where you begin the learn the building blocks that will allow you to progress onto more complicated designs. A selection of more specialised processes such as stone setting, resin, and keum-boo are also taught throughout the course, as students’ individual interests and project requirements emerge.
In our jewellery making class, we provide all the tools and materials you will need for your projects. Silver (and gold!) is not included but can be purchased at cost from the School. After a few classes, many students become addicted to jewellery making and want to work at home – we can help you get started with our amazing toolkits!
The course is structured so that each student will finish the term with a piece or collection of jewellery and having added to their knowledge of jewellery making.
