Level: Beginners & Returners
About the course:
A comprehensive, enjoyable course covering all aspects of jewellery making, suitable for beginners. The afternoon classes are slightly longer than our evening classes allowing students to progress further in a shorter period of time.
The small class size enables each student to work on their own individual project throughout the term, with assistance from highly skilled tutors providing expert one-to-one tuition. The course is structured so that each student will finish the term with a piece or even a collection of jewellery plus samples. Many of the techniques taught can be done at home making the course the perfect kick-start to your jewellery making journey.
All basic jewellery techniques are covered: piercing, soldering and applying texture to the metal. In addition, a selection of more specialised processes such as sand casting, jesmonite and keum-boo are taught throughout this course, as students’ individual interests and project requirements emerge.
What to bring:
Only ideas needed, we’ll provide the rest! All materials and tools are included, with the exception of silver and gold, which can be purchased at cost price at the School. Please bring along glasses if you need them and wear appropriate clothing for a studio environment including closed-toe shoes. If you have long hair please wear it up and bring a cloth face mask to wear if required.
